Nemetschek North America Offers New Training Guides
Three new training guides provide teachers, students, and beginning professional users of VectorWorks with practical, self-paced educational materials

Columbia, Maryland (December 16, 2004)— Nemetschek North America announced today that three new VectorWorks training guides are now available. These guides provide teachers, students, and beginning users of VectorWorks with practical, self-paced educational materials.

Available for the first time outside the professional classroom setting, the VectorWorks 11 Workbook – Fundamentals and accompanying Teacher Edition provide a total classroom solution for instructor-led courses, as well as a foundation for self-paced learning. Initially developed by Nemetschek’s exclusive training partner, Resolve Software Solutions, for the VectorWorks Professional Learning Series training courses, this workbook has been adapted for students of secondary through post-secondary levels. Students will learn the very same skills and concepts taught in VectorWorks 11 training courses. Easy-to-use sample files are included on CD, so students can learn through doing. The new teacher’s guide offers instructors expanded explanatory information, allowing teachers to elaborate on the most important concepts and points. The guide also provides starting points for additional discussion, as well as answers to typical questions and challenges instructors may face while teaching VectorWorks.

VectorWorks by Project offers students and professional architects a step-by-step approach to learning VectorWorks 11 with an instructional manual and CD that contains starter and progress files to accompany the text. Developed by long-time VectorWorks users Louis B. Smith, AIA, and Raymond Massaccesi, the text is appropriate for a variety of learning scenarios: in the classroom setting, and on an individual basis, as well as for beginning professional users who would like to improve their skills or employers who would like to train new employees on VectorWorks.

Developed by Jonathan Pickup of ArchonCAD, the School Resources Kit is a collection of resources developed as a VectorWorks 11 course for the classroom environment. It comes as a CD loaded with the School Manual, exercises, and narrated QuickTime lessons. The student component includes a 400-page printed manual. Instructors can set up lessons using any or all of these resources in any sequence to accompany their teaching strategies and styles. Jonathan Pickup has been using, teaching, supporting, and writing about VectorWorks since 1996.

"The addition of these new training guides opens up several new avenues of learning for students who would like to learn VectorWorks, as well as professional users who are new to VectorWorks," said Michael Bendler, educational program manager of Nemetschek North America. "We’re pleased to offer this variety of options to teachers and students, so they can choose the package that best suits their classroom and learning needs."
